Indonesian Embassy Tokyo

2007 (Shinagawa Tokyo)

This Western style building was built in the Meiji era, leaked badly, with so many cracks and ablations on the walls. This project also included a restoration of plaster walls in basement floor similar to ashes. Based on the whole gamut of experience of the restoration of various cultural properties and of many projects broken by the Great Hanshin earthquake, this included techniques of layering up the layers of stronger plaster as it was plastered, and tying and pulling the plaster walls by windmill palm ropes.
